With its campus at Oristano, Sassari University’s Postgraduate Course in Archaeological Heritage is offering its students a theme to study encapsulated in the Latin syntagm “Insulae Maris Nostri et Externi”, which defines the geographical area of the Mediterranean and the seas outside it but linked by routes with the Mediterranean from antiquity to the height of the Middle Ages, the Black Sea, the Red Sea and, above all, the Iberian, Portuguese and Moroccan Atlantic, into which “la ruta de las islas” meanders.
Beginning with the academic year 2011/2012 four curricula are being started up to embrace the theme, which, together with the course Underwater and Coastal Landscape Archaeology – Classical Archaeology curriculum, already underway in the academic year 2010/2011, comprise Nesiotikà – Sassari Postgraduate Course in Archaelogical Heritage, based at the Oristano campus.
The Postgraduate Course is thus divided into four curricula with the following titles:
Thanks to the agreement between the University of Sassari and Consorzio UNO, the Board managing the decentralised university campus, the Postgraduate Course has its premises in Oristano town, on the coast of central Sardinia.
Students admitted to the Postgraduate Course coming from other parts of the island (outside the Oristano base) and from other regions of Italy or abroad, will be guaranteed free accommodation during taught course periods in an assortment of contracted lodgings.
