Il giorno martedì 10 luglio 2012 dalle ore 9.30 alle 12.00 in Aula 1P è previsto nell'ambito dell'insegnamento di Economia Aziendale tenuto dalla Prof.ssa Patrizia Modica il seminario del Prof. Muzaffer Uysal del Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University USA dal titolo " New issues in Tourism Management".
Tutti gli studenti del corso di laurea in Economia e Gestione dei Servizi Turistici sono invitati a partecipare all'evento.
PROFILO DEL RELATORE
Muzaffer (Muzzo) Uysal is a professor of tourism in the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management - Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University. Dr. Uysal received his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University, and an MBA from the University of New Haven and a BS from Ankara Academy of Economics & Commercial Sciences.
Dr. Uysal has extensive experience in the travel and tourism field, authoring or co-authoring a significant number of articles in tourism and recreation journals, proceedings, book chapters, and five monographs/books relating to different aspects of tourism marketing, demand/supply interaction and international tourism. He has also conducted workshops and seminars on similar topics and field research in several countries.
Dr. Uysal is a member of the International Academy for the Study of Tourism, the Academy of Leisure Sciences, and serves as co-editor of Tourism Analysis: An Interdisciplinary Journal. In addition, he sits on the editorial boards of several prestigious journals, including Journal of Travel Research, and Annals of Tourism Research as resource editor. Dr. Uysal has received a number of awards for excellence in research and teaching.
Most recently, Dr. Uysal received the 2009 University of Delaware Michael D. Olsen Research Achievement Award in Hospitality and Tourism and a Lifetime Achievement Award in Tourism Research in 2008 from Chinese Tourism Management Association – Taiwan. He worked as Associate Dean for Graduate Programs and Research in the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management at the University of South Carolina from July 2007 to August 2008. His current research interests center on tourism demand/supply interaction, tourism marketing, and quality of life research in tourism.
La partecipazione al seminario e ad una successiva visita didattica prevista per il 12 luglio a Villasimius, consentirà ai partecipanti di maturare 1 CFU da inserire nell'area a scelta dello studente, previa stesura di una relazione sulla base di alcune indicazioni di carattere didattico che la docente Prof.ssa Patrizia Modica indicherà in una comunicazione successiva.
